Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. Relax with the beautiful nature surroundings at this peaceful place to stay. Enjoy your visit to NWI at this beautiful cottage with vaulted ceilings. It is the perfect space to relax and unwind. When requested for an additional fee, children items are available (hatch sound machine, pack and play, , bed bumpers, baby bath support and or high chair. This location is close the to Indiana National Lakeshore(17 minutes), downtown Valparaiso(7 minutes), and right next to Long Lake.

Private Cottage in Gated Nudist Community

We offer a private cottage on the grounds of Lake O the Woods Club. Cottage has Queen size bed, air conditioning, heater, refrigerator, microwave, TV, coffee maker, work/dining area, private deck and porta-potty. Payment of club daily grounds fee ($30-$60) is optional . Pricing on club website. There is no running water in the cottage. Bathrooms, showers, hot tub, sauna and swimming pool are available at the clubhouse and pool area after payment of grounds fees.

100 yds from the beach, the cozy MERMAID BASEMENT SUITE is best for a young family or 2-3 adult friends. This 400 sq ft artsy basement/studio includes: private entrance, kitchenette, unique art, cozy reading/sleeping nook. There is one small window with no lake view but you can see the lake from the upstairs deck. BBQ on the grill. Visit local restaurants, shops & galleries. Hike wooded trails & swim by sandy, dune-grass beaches. . House-trained dogs welcome!
