One of our favourite drives is a trip to Nunniong Plains which is a high country plain where it snows in the winter. Wild brumbies can be seen at all times of the year. A number of activities can be enjoyed in the Nunniong State Forest. These include fishing in the headwaters of the Tambo and Timbarra Rivers, four wheel driving, bush walking, horse riding, photography and flora and fauna appreciation. Bentley Plain is a highlight of the drive, where you can picnic or camp at either “Moscow Villa” or the “Bush Hilton”, providing a base for the various activities. For a longer adventure you can continue on to Bindii near Swifts Creek where you can visit the Nullamunje Olive Farm restaurant for lunch in warmer weather.
