Cabin on Swede Hill

Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. We invite you to come...... and experience country life.

Make yourself at home in a charming apartment with all the amenities! Lose yourself birding or reading a book surrounded by lush gardens. Take a short walk to downtown Homewood to enjoy shopping & dining or catch the train to Chicago. 🏳️‍🌈 BLM Safe space! After a day of exploring, a king-sized sleep number bed & lush bathroom features will pamper you! A fold-down sofa creates an additional bed. Dogs welcome! Place yourself right in the beauty of the land and nature in this cozy tiny home at Perkins' Good Earth Farm. The tiny home has a loft bedroom, bathroom with shower and composting toilet, kitchen, sitting area, and deck. You'll be surrounded by organic vegetable fields, 11 acres of woods, walking trails--and within perfect view of both the sunrise and sunset. You'll also have easy access to our farm store where you'll find fresh fruits & veggies, homemade soups & salads and so much more.

There is a fireplace, dining room and convenient patio with sliding glass doors that lead to the outdoor patio The home is comes with wood floors & stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. Kitchen is fully stocked for cooking. Bedrooms have a 55" Smart TV for your enjoyment! The living room has a 65" Smart TV . We also have a queen size electric airbed with extra pillows & linens.
