The spacious loft is the perfect place to relax after a day's sightseeing or travelling. The private entrance means the space is completely your own to relax and enjoy a bit of TV or film, or find out more about the area and it's history The main room has a comfortable king size bed, TV and seating area. The container is a 5 minute walk from the picturesque Talkin village which has a friendly pub serving food. A woodburning stove (logs supplied) ensures the container stays cosy in all weathers. It makes an excellent base to explore Hadrian's Wall, the North Lakes and the Eden Valley.. or a perfect stop off point on your way to or from Scotland.

The North Pennines, Solway Coast and Scottish Borders are all close too. With its panoramic views and fully enclosed garden it is also perfect for sitting back and relaxing.

Cosy shepherds hut on Hadrian’s Wall

A basic and cosy shepherds hut a few minutes walk from the Hadrian’s Wall trail, tucked away on a tiny campsite (Camping at Banks), a no vehicles site where you can enjoy the sounds of nature. The hut has a wood burning stove, bottom sheets and pillows. You can hire sleeping bags from us. There is a compost loo and outside sink but no shower or electricity. The hut is suitable for those arriving by foot or bicycle - there is NO PARKING on the site. Single night stays welcome!

Ghyllie Cottage

We are dog friendly! We are also child friendly! Ghyllie Cottage is a two bedroom, two bathroom cottage that is over 200 years old! Wetheral is just 3 miles from junction 42 on the M6 and the village has great amenities including a Village Shop and post office, Cafe, and a great pub just across the road! Wetheral Railway Station is a short walk from the cottage with regular trains to Carlisle and Newcastle. Easy access to Gretna Green, the Lake District, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Delightful off grid shepherds hut

Built from scratch by none other than the owners themselves, the dog-friendly Tweedenburn Shepherd's Hut is more than just a labour of love; it’s also a completely off-grid hut powered by solar panels and in an excellent spot for exploring the Scottish Borders. When you’re ready for a kip, there’s a comfortable double bed for two inside the hut. Complete with a woodburning stove. Firepit/ barbecue and gas hob provided in the outdoor kitchen. All utensils provided.
