If you get time, do book yourself for an afternoon tea at the Walpole hotel and ask to go around the hotel/ museum. Very quirky and a little scary in places...

Beautiful and quirky hotel above Walpole Bay. Come here for a drink, a cream tea, dinner or just to look around the corridors which also serve as a museum.

Hello, faded seaside glamour. From the moment you enter The Walpole Bay Hotel and Museum, you step back in time to the ambience of a bygone era. We recommend scones and a pot of tea in the dining room or on the terrace, then a trip in the hotel’s original 1920s gated lift. Look out for the original Tracey Emin’s on the wall, scrawled on napkins. <3

Tonnes of history here. Tracy Ennis fave place in Margate. Great fir afternoon tea after a walk on the beach or a swim at Walpole bay lido!
