If you are at all interested in TN history, this is a super cool park! It sits and the foot of the State Capitol, and is a superb walk-through of Tennessee's history.

Beautiful park! The chimes sound every 15 minutes during the day and you get a full song at the top of every hour. Grab some local food from the Farmer's Market next door and enjoy the afternoon.

Nice park next to Capitol Hill, has a lot of monuments dedicated to history of the city. Visit the Nashville Farmer’s Market right next door. Lots of lunch food and local buys!

Great for a short walk and see the history of Tennessee. Also for those who want a challenging workout, the stairs up to the capital are a popular run/climb!

This picture does NOT do the park justice. Please walk down and explore it on a beautiful day. At any given time, you may randomly see historical reenactments like old time baseball games (in full costume), civil war exhibits / reenactments, and live music. Little ones will enjoy the splashpad on the far side of the park (bring a suit or change of clothes). Just past the splashpad is a giant stone map of Tennessee, easy to overlook under your feet as you walk towards James Robertson Pkwy. We frequently sit on the lawn with a picnic lunch or dinner - the view of the capital building is amazing! The granite walls all along the outside of the park tell Tennessee's history in digestible snippets. Visit the WWII memorial and find all the places you've visited on the giant rotating globe. Let the kids do their own play in the old world style amphitheater - or catch whatever show is happening!
