One of our favourite day trips from Nice, easily reached by train. We often take the train one way and walk to/from Monte-Carlo along the really good coastal footpath. Menton has a lovely sandy beach as well as great restaurants, museums and gardens.

In the Belle Époque, Europe’s aristocracy fell head over heels for Menton, the last French Riviera resort before Italy. TRAVEL FROM NICE TO MENTON – Travel from Nice to Menton couldn’t be easier… Trains depart from Nice-Ville station regularly. Tickets can cost as little as €4, and the journey only takes around 40 minutes.

Menton is extremely beautiful. The colors of its old buildings are truly unique on the French Riviera. Unfortunately, it's located at the very edge of it, so you'll need quite some time to get there either by car or train.
