Stanford and the Silicon Valley offices, such as Apple, Google, and Facebook is typically within 1 hour drive from Orinda. Stanford campus is beautiful and they have a nice Stanford outdoor mall nearby.

Stanford University, other than a world renown university, has a very scenic and walk-able campus. Be sure to visit the Memorial Church, Cantor Art Museum, Oval garden, etc. - all free!
