There are really nice pyramid ruins, the church and the square together in one area, which makes you think about it as a perfect example of cultural syncretism - pre-columbian ruins, Spanish church and kind of modern square, which witnessed the massacre of students in 1968. One of the most important places in the City.

A public square is known for important historical events, from the market of Prehispanic Culture of Tlatelolco that was located in its vicinity, the infamous Night of Tlatelolco, scene of the massacre of students held on October 2nd, 1968 and one of the more damaged neighborhoods during the earthquake suffered by the city on September 19, 1985. An interesting place to visit, the mixture of three epochs, Prehispanic, Viceregal, and Contemporary. The Pre-Hispanic remains of the old town of Tlatelolco can be visited as a museum. The Cultural Center Tlatelolco of the UNAM is on the side. Of historical and cultural interest.

Rather sadly known best for the student massacres of the last century, Tlatelolco’s Plaza de las Tres Culturas is still a worthy entry on our guide to Mexico City’s top attractions, bringing together as it does the three distinct cultural heritages that make up modern Mexico. Pyramids mark the Mesoamerican past, whilst the colonial Templo de Santiago symbolises the Spanish Conquistador’s influence on the culture, and the Torre de Tlatelolco marks present day modernity.

Tlatelolco it's a beautiful historic place in CDMX. It has ruins, lots of parks and incredibly high buildings. The atmosphere it's just magic. Also there's a museum near by I highly recommend. Here you'll find the historic public hall where the '68 killing happened.

The square of the three cultures, a place where you'll find three phases of the mexican history converge. Vestiges of the mexica civilization, the spanish church of Santiago and the landmarks of great buildings showcasing a contemporary Mexico.
