The HEB off of Oltorf and South Congress is the nearest full-service grocery store which is open from 6am - 1am daily.

Ok - not within walking distance, but H-E-B is the dominant grocery store chain in South Texas. It's the reason you won't find Albertsons, Kroger, Safeway, etc in the area. Great prices and a wide selection.
