Right in the heart of Sydney’s CBD is this remarkable oasis of quiet. It’s a Catholic church and one of the best examples of English-style gothic-revival churches on earth. With many stone arches and stained-glass windows, it’s also an ideal setting for retreating from the urban world and relaxing into a meditation. There are always tourists walking through the cathedral, so before sitting down, look around and find a pew in a quiet nook.

huge church! There's actually a swimming pool structure underneath open to public...swim church, breakfast and art gallery + botanic gardens is a good day!

St Mary’s Cathedral is a historic church located in the heart of the Sydney with a masterpiece architecture. It has the greatest length of any church in Australia (although it is neither the tallest nor largest overall). The atmosphere is great and people are so welcoming. Easy access via public transport.
