Canopy is a creative community set within a redeveloped East Austin warehouse. Artist studios, creative office spaces, art galleries and a café are linked together with communal courtyards and covered breezeways, emphasizing the connectedness between art, culture, and the public. Artists frequently host art openings, parties and performances for the public.

WALK to this Goodwill-refurbshed-as-gallery space to see world class art (painting, sculpture, and photography) and fine crafts including Lisa Crowder Jewelry and Son of a Sailor Crafts. Sa-Ten Cafe is also housed here. We hit this place about once a week.

I used to have my art gallery in this complex of East Austin studios and galleries. There's a sweet spot for coffee or lunch (Sa-Ten Coffee & Eats), plus several retail galleries and shops with regular hours: Lisa Crowder Jewelry, Modern Rocks Gallery, Keith Kreeger ceramics, and Son of a Sailor Jewelry and Supply. Art galleries in the adjacent building are open during certain hours only: Big Medium Gallery, ICOSA gallery and Bale Creek Allen Gallery. Artist Studios in the two-story part of the building are open during monthly "Open Canopy" open houses. Check canopyaustin.com for info.

At Canopy on the East side you can see more then one gallery at once. Its a whole lot of galleries combined and they have a great coffee place too. Definitely worth going to if you love the arts.
