Definita la capitale del Barocco, nel 2002 il suo centro storico è stato dichiarato Patrimonio dell’Umanità da parte dell’UNESCO, insieme con il Val di Noto. Defined as the Baroque capital, in 2002 its historic center was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with the Val di Noto.
