If you get bored with Lake Chautauqua, drive straight west 21 miles & you’ll arrive at Barcelona Beach, on the really big lake- Lake Erie!

This is a lovely beach and one of our favorites! It is right next to the lighthouse. There are restaurants within walking distance and even a boat launch!

Barcelona is a popular beach for the locals and tourists - there are two access points. Plug the attached address into Google Maps or whatever maps you use - it will take you to a light after getting into Westfield where you can either go straight, left, or right. The GPS will automatically tell you to go right. Turning right will take you to the most popular part of the beach, going straight will take you to the opposite side of the break wall, where it can occasionally get busy but you get access to the other part of the beach...it's much longer on that side. If you love search for beach glass, this is a hot spot for that. If you enjoy kayaking, on a calm day, I recommend going for a paddle. Use your own discretion if you have children with you. Lake Erie is popular for those that love riding waves as well, feel free to take your paddleboard out for a surf!
