CRAB Park is a waterfront green space and beach destination tucked away from busy Gastown that it lacks much of the crowds typically associated with Vancouver’s urban beaches.
for the best kept secrete park in Vancouver. Don't go if nudity or weed smoking bothers you.
Welcome to the Riviera of the downtown east side! Mean Streets meets moms out with tots in a living diorama of the gentrification of Gas Town and its neighboring hoods. While extremely close to Hastings & Main, I actually feel quite a bit safer here, and it's worth stopping by for the unique views of the city, north shore, and port. The park is cleaner than you'd expect and well tended. The usual route for getting here on foot is most likely taking Water street then Alexander street an taking a left at Main, but if you feel like an odder route you can take the elevator outside the Cactus Club at Canada Place and walk underground along West Waterfront Road to the park. Spooky. Fun, but more for urban explorers and people watchers than for a day out on the beach.
