Watch the ships go by as you sip on sangria. There are some abandoned army bunkers about a mile north of here also. Not recommended for children.
I love to take guests here at sunset! Follow Seawall blvd. east until it ends at a parking lot. It is the remnants of a gun battery and a historical marker. A great place to watch the ships go by at the Far East end. You can also walk down the road leading to the East end beach. Many people fish off the bank here or go crabbing.
If u dare to-bc it’s a little dangerous (venture at your own risk, I’m not liable for any injuries, etc!), and, IF u can park (there’s a very small parking lot) at the VERY east end of the Seawall-it actually dead end into the Fort San Jacinto Historic Point, there’s a cool, abandoned/torn down building on the left a little way down the beach. I think it was a lighthouse at some point. It’s a nice walk down the beach (not a public area—-most locals don’t even know abt this). You’ll come to a large rocky area, you’ll see the bldg (or what’s left of it). It has a great view of the area where the ships go into the port but has quit a bit of graffiti so it may not be suitable for young ones. It also requires a little climbing & will have broken glass. Sooo, with all that said, if u go BE CAREFUL.

This is a historic site and popular birding location. There is a remnant of a gun battery and historic marker. Great place to watch ships move through the ship channel.
