바뚜르 산은 거대한 분화구가 있는 활화산이며 바뚜르 호수는 분화구에 물이 고여 생긴 칼데라 호수이다. 바뚜르 호수 위로 바뚜르 산이 솟아 있다. 낀따마니 화산 지대는 1900년대에만 세 번의 분화를 겪었으며 수많은 집과 사원이 사라진 슬픈 과거를 가지고 있는 곳이다. 폭발로 만들어진 장관을 보기 위해 많은 여행자들이 찾는다. 화산 트레킹으로 유명해서 낀따마니에서 새벽에 출발하여 일출을 보기에 좋다.

A great hike with amazing views! Do expect to wake up at 2am (yes, you didn't read this wrong), if you are keen on catching the sunrise at the peak of the mountain! Bring your own food & water, and be prepared to be surrounded by monkeys at the peak!
