Hiking Andreas Canyon: Agua Caliente Oasis. This is located within the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation. A friend told me that the Indian Reservation is the best place to visit on a hot day and Andreas Canyon is perfect for a picnic.

1 mile round trip. Easy and enjoyable hike along Andreas Creek, 200ft elevation gain. Admission fee: $9 per adult. Amazing views of rock formations and the magnificent California Fan Palm. Andreas Canyon is considered to be the worlds second largest California Fan Palm Oasis.

Andreas Canyon, another canyon area within the Indian Canyons park, is also worth checking out and is known as a good place to see birds. In the same vicinity is Murray Canyon, with a less frequented hiking trail and better opportunities for spotting deer and other wildlife. There are many hiking trails in the park, and many of those trails take you into multiple canyons.
