Miles of walking paths through a manicured oak forest, a topiary maze, chateau, aviary, and decent lunch-y restaurant on a terrace. Stupendous views of the Dordogne River valley. Good for all ages.

Via-ferrata cliff traverse, beginner climbing lessons, childrens activites, all included in the entrance fee to the gardens. From sunset on Thursday evenings in summer, the footpaths are lit by thousands of tealights and you are serenaded by live music as you explore the gardens.

A listed site, the romantic and picturesque gardens of Marqueyssac offer more than six kilometers of shaded paths bordered by 150000 hand-pruned box trees a hundred years old, the whole embellished with belvederes, waterways, rockeries and grassy clearings.
