Easy to find, popular walking spot, not too far from the door without the use of a car.
A lovely 2-3 hour walk from Grasmere. A hike, not a climb with stunning scenery along the way. Plenty of space away from the crowds.
We absolutely love this walk and although it's a 40 minute drive from the cottage to Grasmere, it's a totally stunning drive - you'll want to stop along the way and take photos! Starting out in Grasmere village (with a little of the famous gingerbread in your pocket to keep going) it's approximately an hour and three quarters round trip. Do take a picnic to have at the tarn - it's exquisite! And it's a safe, easy hike - still mountainous, but nothing scary at all, so it's suitable for all the family if they are mobile.

Park up opposite Tweedies Bar in Grasmere for an easy access point for this beautiful walk up to Easedale Tarn. You will see Sourmilk Ghyll falls. Great place for a dip and you could carry on up to the Seargent Man and cross over into the Langdale Valley.
