This is the best place to go cool down during the summer! You can rent paddle boards, play on the giant blow up in the middle of the lake (it’s fun for adults too), sit on the beach, fish or take your boat out!

Lake Nighthorse is a reservoir created by the 270 feet high Ridges Basin Dam southwest of Durango in La Plata County Colorado. As part of the Animas-La Plata Water Project, Lake Nighthorse provides water storage for tribal and water right claim-holders along the Animas River. It's open for public use during the day, and is a great place to kayak, paddle-board, boat, or hang by the docks.
