The Cité du cinéma was created in 2012 in the commune of Saint-Denis, a few kilometers north of the capital, not far from the Stade de France. The initiative to create this place dedicated to the film industry, where talents, studios, students and film professionals come together, comes from French director-producer Luc Besson. The building is an old power station (in service from 1933 to 1981) combining industrial architecture, Eiffel art deco elements, and an impressive 4,400 m² nave! The site is open to the public at major temporary exhibitions around the 7th Art and during guided tours organized by Cultival.
