건축가 자하 하디드가 설계한 동대문디자인플라자는 서로 다투지 않고 물이 흘러가듯한 형상이 한국의 정서와 꼭 닮아 있다. 특히 동대문디자인플라자는 이곳과 저곳이 따로 나누어지지 않고 지붕이 벽이 되고 벽이 지붕이 되는 구조가 특징이다. 열린 공간들이 서로서로 이어져 동선을 따라 오고가며 상생하고 공유하는 '환유의 풍경'이 담겨있다.

Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) has a meaning of Dream, Design, and Play. It holds various exhibitions, fashion shows, forums, conferences, and other domestic and international events. The building complex is divided into sections, which are named Allimteo, Beaumteo, Sallimteo, DDP Design Museum, Design Market & Eoullim Plaza, and Dongdaemun History & Culture Park. ‘Dream, Design, Play’ DDP DDP is a multi-cultural complex located at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station in Seoul, Korea. Since its foundation on March 21, 2014, DDP has staged diverse cultural events including exhibitions, fashion shows, product launch shows, forums, conferences and various cultural events. DDP is where new design trends begin and cultures are exchanged.
