This a Japanese restaurant owned by a charming Japanese couple; there are a mix of high and low tables in a great outdoor space. Really thoughtful about their ingredients, they work with local fishermen and make all the broths from scratch. The result is less soup, more magic potion. We really recommend the spicy noodle bowls made with homemade noodles and these addictive hot peppercorns—you won’t be able to stop eating. They also make their tofu fresh from scratch.

For authentic Japanese cuisine and drinks including sauces. (wasabi). The place is within the neighbourhood therefore easy to access. You are advised to make a reservation. Also l advice you check out the prices to avoid straining your wallet while there. otherwise great meals and service.

For Japanese food, Cheka is nonpareil! Not only is their seafood fresh and food authentic, the restaurant is thought-out and colorful in every detail: the hand-drawn daily menus, the custom Cheka ceramic dishes, the Japanese-speaking staff. It's not an "oasis" of Japan within Nairobi; its aesthetic is beautifully both Japanese and Kenyan.

It's one of the cheap authentic eats of Japanese cuisine in Nairobi. I have never been disappointed by this restaurant, I highly recommend it.

The most authentic Japanese food in town ! Try the cheka noodle soup, Cheka sushi roll and they have amazing lunch specials every day from Tuesday it includes four course meal for 8 dollars ! And on Sunday evening get a shiatsu massage & free drink for 10 dollars plus meal costs.
