This wonderful view of Lake Maggiore and the surrounding area of Val Grande can be enjoyed from the top of Pizzo Pernice. Pizzo Pernice for many fans is an unmissable excursion to do absolutely in the Verbano area. Pernice lace is also famous because it is the key summit of the Intrasca Valley Marathon, one of the best known sporting events in the lake area. The Marathon is held every year in the period of June and is one of the sporting activities to do on Lake Maggiore. How to get there? From Verbania follow the same indications to reach Pian Cavallone. The first part of the path is the same as that of Piancavallone. Once you reach the second chapel, however, take the path on the left, towards Pizzo Pernice.
