Richard I,the Lion-Hearted of England who set out on the third crusade,after his return of crusades from Latin Kingdom,himself financed construction of Roman Catholic Cathedral,which is opposite to our appts. In the closest vicinity of the appts is the main plaza Stradun,where all events take place,with lot of narrow side streets,lot of all kind of variety of shops,caffes, restaurants and museums of historical events.Closest beach Buza is just few steps away. Appts lay in the very quiet area despite in the heart beat of the old town.Of great importance to say no steps to climb,appts are just on the first floor,not tiredness and fatigue in hot very sunny summer days. Konavle is the most southern Croatian region, 20 km from Dubrovnik, which covers an area of 209 km2 with 9500 inhabitants and 33 smaller and larger settlements. It is very famous for its intact nature, beautiful walking paths, Konavle cliffs with the beach Pasjača, and Horseback riding. Popovići Popovici is one of the picturesque villages of Konavle with two hundred residents who live in the traditional stone houses. This village is located in the southern part of Konavle, it is surrounded with intact nature, pine forests, hiking trails, amazing viewpoints, pleasant climate especially at night, where you can take a rest and relax without air conditioning even in the warmest summer months, with long-forgotten sound of complete silence where only sounds of crickets can be heard during the night. House Klaić Our family as well as county house foundations are dating from of 14th century. Today, this house, as a part of house complex Klaići, special architectural site, is protected by UNESCO as a cultural monument of high value. During the Croatian war for Independence in 1991, the house was highly damaged. It was renovated again in period 2002.-2004. and completely finished in spring 2013.
