Elena’s home is a wonderful getaway with beautiful views of a gorgeous lake. We were looking for a place close to Chicago where we could unplug from our busy weekdays and enjoy a relaxing weekend of hiking and this spot was perfect. It didn’t feel like we were only an hour outside the city. Waking up to the view and the sound of birds in the morning, along with the temperature-controlled dome, was truly special. We had a cozy night in playing games, grilling, and sitting around the fire pit. The kitchen was well-stocked, clean, and free of unnecessary clutter, which made cooking easy and enjoyable. The bathroom and linens were pristine, with all-white towels and bedding—a detail we really appreciated. The no-shoes policy added to the cozy, clean atmosphere of the home. The location was also ideal—just a 15-minute drive from the dunes, and the included seasonal parking pass was a great bonus. Overall, our stay was comfortable, relaxing, and exactly what we were hoping for!

Jeannie’s huge cabin is a treasure! It’s hidden off the road in a beautiful wooded area. The decor inside is charmingly “elegant rustic” but with all the modern conveniences. We were three adults and a child. Jeannie provided children’s books and games, and there was even a billiards table. The location was quiet and we could hear many birds singing. Jeannie was a great host, and we highly recommend her place!!

Tanner’s place was beautiful! Few steps away from the lake. Loved the view as the sun was setting. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a quiet peaceful place. Will definitely be staying here again.

Awesome place! Glad we were able to stay here. Very homy and comfortable with a great view of the lake. Enjoyed having coffee with a great view in the mornings. Would definitely come back!!

It is the perfect place for our family with lots of space. We love the yard for the kids to be able to run around. It is also close enough to downtown to walk. Joe is very responsive and accommodating.

This is our third year staying here while visiting our daughter in Portage. This condo is so well equipped and well kept. Teresa is the most responsive host we’ve ever had. She responds quickly and I never would worry about it if there was some issue cause I know I would be able to communicate with her easily! See you next year!

This is the second time we stayed at Serenity Cottage, Lake Of The Woods It is an ideal location for us because we have family in Bremen, Bourbon, and Plymouth. The setting is beautiful. We love the big open family area. The kitchen is lovely and we usually cook most of our meals so it is stocked well enough to do this. The owner lives next-door and checked in to make sure everything was OK. We will definitely stay here again.

Maryanna has an absolutely wonderful home to stay in! I felt right at home and really appreciated how clean and tidy everything was. She was also really great at keeping in touch if I had questions and also had quite a few local suggestions as far as food! Would 100% stay again anytime and it would be a pleasure!

Chris is a phenomenal host. He lives a few minutes away from the RV and is very responsive. Two adults and 2 younger kids were very comfortable and had plenty of space to hangout in the RV. We did not take advantage of the activities at the site, but there was something nearly every hour over the weekend for guests (especially kids) to enjoy. If we are in the area, we would absolutely stay again!
