The cottage has its own private garden and own entrance and is joined to the main house. The property has remote gate access, with secure parking directly outside the cottage. Yellowwoods Farm- Midlands/ Balgowan/ Curry’s Post

Built in 1896, this is one of the original Natal Midlands farmhouses, made from traditional blue cut stone, yellowwood floorboards and wrap around verandah. The house is surrounded by an established garden and is a truly unique family-friendly home. Four bedrooms and three bathrooms (two en-suite). Relax with the whole family on this working farm nestled in the bends of the Mooi River. Experience the peace of the meandering Mooi River, nature, livestock and overlook the quiet bustle of an active farmyard. Unfortunately due to ongoing biosecurity measures access to the dairy and cattle areas will not be allowed. The cottage is self catering, and close to Mooi River town for supplies or takeaways. There is 4km of rough dirt road to access the farm (high clearance vehicles recommended)

The cottage is completely load shedding friendly, with a gas stove and gas geyser and inverter that runs the lights and TV. The veranda has folding doors that open completely for a 180 degree view of the farm and dam. This is an ideal family unit, or a cozy couples break away.

Our wooden cabin over the lake offers a cozy and comfortable stay, with stunning views over the lake and the forests around the property. Enjoy the bird life of which there are a few species. You can enjoy the tranquility, or fish from the deck, or explore the nearby attractions. The cabin is self catering, semi off-grid equipped with a gas geyser supplying hot water to the shower, and we have an ensuite septic based toilet.
