Historic Sunflower Cottage, Tranquil and Romantic

Sunflower Cottage is a romantic self-catering cottage in McGregor, and is one of the oldest and most loved historical houses in the village. Originally built in the 1880’s, its thick adobe walls, original mud floors, reed ceilings and thatched roof are natural insulators against the heat and cold of the Little Karoo. Located in a quiet corner of the village, the cottage is perfect for couple getaways, to explore this historical town and surrounding winelands.

Rose Cottage is a stand alone century old farm cottage made postcard-perfect by the milieu of flowers, horses, green fields, dramatic mountains and adjacent farm dam. Peace and tranquility is what Die Stal offers most of all. Die Stal, situated in the Hermitage Valley at the foothills of the Langeberg Mountains, 2,5 km outside the town of Swellendam. Die Stal is an old milking shed which has been transformed into a luxury self-catering cottage. The cottage is located on a working farm with sweeping views of the Hermitage peaks, Eenuurkop, Twaalfuurkop and Elfuurkop.

When we first opened our spot we were truly over the hills and far away... now the village has grown around us a bit, but the place can still feel pretty secluded. The architect-designed house mixes inside/outside space with plenty of room for family.. Explore wetland, river and the Langeberg mountains. With plenty of comforts this spot is paradise for children, dogs and a retreat for adults.
