Windy Hall is very special. High in the Cumbrian Pennines, it offers one of the finest views in England. Many guests just stay and enjoy the setting & seclusion, but we are also ideally placed for day trips to the Lake District, the magnificent cathedral city of Durham, Hadrian's Wall, and the castles & coasts of Northumberland. 18th Century Country Cottage on a working farm

The Old Smithy was the original farm house built in the 18th Century. Completely renovated from derelict in 2002 and freshly redecorated in 2021, it boasts many of its original features; including the old fire range which will keep you warm on those winter nights (an initial basket of logs is F.O.C.) Downstairs, sandstone flag floors and oak beamed ceilings are throughout. A biomass boiler heats the cottage with timber sourced from the farm. Includes laundry, towels, heating and electricity.

La'al Yam is a delightful cosy cottage with wonderful views and full of charm. It is surrounded by gardens full of wildlife. A place for rest and relaxation, where you can completely unwind. It is the East wing of Hylands, decorated in sympathy with Arts and Crafts principles. Quality finishes and materials throughout, using local suppliers and crafts people. It is 12 minutes walk from Kendal's many independent shops and restaurants and 5 minutes walk to our local pub the 'Rifleman's Arms'.
