Or if you are exploring the area then it is the perfect home base for adventures in the mountains or to Asheville for breweries, dining or shopping.

The Nest, a mountainside retreat

The Nest is tucked into a grove of hemlocks, high above the creek and valley below. All types of vehicles have made the trek up the driveway, but we recommend 4-wheel drive. The seclusion of The Nest is unmatched and this tiny modern marvel comes with all you ask for, and so much more. Less than 25 min to downtown Asheville and minutes from the quaint mountain towns of Marshall and Mars Hill. Enjoy activities like hiking, skiing, and zip lines. Welcome to Brooks Cabin, named for our Brooks ancestors who acquired the property in the late 1940s. A beautiful custom built 1900s log home, newly remodeled. Hot tub, firepit, full kitchen, 3 bedrooms, full bath with laundry. Surrounded by farm animals on a Working farm, you’ll have the chance to see chickens, sheep, goats, pigs, barn cats and our livestock guardian dogs. It’s only minutes from the Appalachian Trail, in a spectacular and unique location with easy road access.

The cozy Otter cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living/dining area, king-sized bed in separate bedroom, and a large bathroom with walk-in tile shower and freestanding Japanese soaking tub. The round cabin design with wrap-around deck views put you in the heart of nature.
