Welcome to Aquila Cottage which is directly on the Hadrians Wall Path, Pennine Way and Cycleway Route 72. The cottage is in an unparallelled location just 150 yards from "the best bit" of Hadrians Wall at Walltown Crags and directly opposite the Roman Army Museum. There is a bus stop right (services include AD122) outside. We are perfectly located for walking, visiting the sites along Hadrians Wall, stargazing events at Walltown & Twice Brewed as well as visiting the lakes & Scottish Borders

Stonecrop is a much loved cottage and enjoys a tranquil setting with a large, attractive garden, situated in a stunning part of Northumberland. Guests are welcome to wander through our adjoining field to reach the banks of the river South Tyne. It was built in 1760 and has retained its original character whilst benefiting from all mod cons. Many guests return year after year and dogs are welcome too. Stonecrop is within easy reach of Hadrian’s Wall, the Yorkshire Dales, the Borders and Lakes.

Swinburne Castle

Swinburne Castle is perfectly situated within its own beautiful parkland and gardens. Traditionally decorated, parts of the house have tremendous history dating back to the 12th century. The east wing is extremely comfortable and private, and don't be perturbed by the stone steps leading down to the vaulted cellar. A delicious continental breakfast will be provided in your rooms. There is ample parking and a tennis court you are welcome to use. lovely footpaths from the house for keen walkers.

Our ground floor apartment is fully equipped to make your stay cosy and enjoyable. It's situated on the main street of Haltwhistle close to all amenities and local pubs. Haltwhistle is a great base for visiting Hadrian's Wall, and good for walking, cycling and outdoor activities. If you wish to travel further afield, Alnwick Castle and Holy Island are within easy reach. Hop on a train to Carlisle or Newcastle. Whatever you choose, we are a great base to begin your Northumberland adventure.

The Shipping Container, Springwell

An ‘Amazing Spaces’ inspired shipping container conversion, set in a peaceful secluded wildlife friendly garden, at the foot of the Pennine hills. The container is a 5 minute walk from the picturesque Talkin village which has a friendly pub serving food. A woodburning stove (logs supplied) ensures the container stays cosy in all weathers. It makes an excellent base to explore Hadrian's Wall, the North Lakes and the Eden Valley.. or a perfect stop off point on your way to or from Scotland.

Our new handcrafted shepherds hut has en-suite facilities and underfloor heating. It has an enclosed patio with seats and a chiminea. We are situated in a very quiet part of Northumberland with excellent walking and cycling from site. The Pennine way is a field away, we have disused railway lines with viaduct and riverside walks. Nearby is the market town of Alston, Penrith and the north lakes, Barnard Castle in Teasdale. Stanhope in Weardale. Hadrian's wall, Hexham, Brampton and Carlisle

Welcome to Garden Cottage — your home from home in Farlam Parish, surrounded by the North Pennines and rolling countryside. Set on our family farm near Brampton and Hallbankgate, the cottage offers a peaceful garden and views of the fells and grazing livestock. Tackroom Cottage is one of 4 traditional stone cottages located on an historic Northumberland farmstead. The cottages are surrounded by farmland, with large areas of lawn and meadow available for guests (2 and four legged) We generate our own electricity on-site and try to promote environmental sustainability where we can. We are a short distance from Hadrian's Wall, situated between Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum.
