A great place for mountain biking with the Transpennine Trail a few miles away and lots of cycle paths/trails on your doorstep. Local real ale pubs and plenty of cafes in Marsden village a short walk (15 minutes) along the canal. Beautiful scenery, views from the cottage are amazing.

Built in 1860 for workers at the nearby cotton mill, this home has many period and original features. Whether you are cooking in the kitchen, relaxing in front of the wood burning stove, laying in bed or luxuriating in the gorgeous feature bath, there is a stunning view to be seen from every window. If you are lucky you may see an otter or mink swim by.

The historic village of Chapeltown is ideal for walking, cycling or just relaxing. A stone’s throw away is the friendly pub, offering great pub food. A 5 minute walk will take you to the Wayoh reservoir and surrounding areas leading to Entwistle and Jumbles Country park. Turton Tower is a short walk away and Bromley Cross train station is 1.5 miles with a direct line to Manchester and Clitheroe. The Lancashire cycle way runs past the doorstep as does as the cycling stage of Ironman uk.

We converted the Old Piggery over 20 years ago, and have recently done a full refurbishment. It now has a cosy snug with a sofa as well as a lounge with far-reaching views. There is an ensuite bathroom and downstairs, a shower and toilet. The bedroom is on a mezzanine floor with a king-sized, chunky farmhouse bed with an extremely comfortable mattress. The lounge area has a Laura Ashley sofa and snuggle chair positioned to take in a far-reaching views or a 43 inch TV if you prefer!

With far reaching views over the hills and valleys of this special corner of the Peak District, Stoneswood Cottage combines a modernised interior (fully refurbished in 2025) with the charming character of a typical 19th century Yorkshire home. Set in the hillside of Greenfield, Saddleworth. The cottage is situated on our family farm where we have a variety of animals: horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, dogs and cats. Due to the potential dangers we ask that guests do not access the yard and use the designated path to the cottage.
