Treat yourself to a relaxing break to recharge your batteries, explore local hiking trails, or enjoy picnics in the stunning gardens or nearby at Blagdon/Chew Valley Lakes. In the evening, wind down on the terrace with your favourite tipple, recharge in the infrared sauna (charges apply), or venture out to nearby pubs.

The Old Cider Barn offers one bedroom, open plan, detached accommodation in an idyllic countryside setting. Only a few miles outside Bristol city centre yet surrounded by fields in the heart of the Chew Valley and within walking distance of the multiple pubs in Chew Magna and Chew Valley Lake. Suitable for guests that want to relax in the countryside, as a stopover before/ after flights from Bristol Airport (less than 4 miles away), or as an evening getaway whilst commuting into Bristol.

It is the perfect base for exploring the beautiful Chew Valley with plenty of walks and pubs, and we are within easy walking distance of Chew Valley Lake. Whilst being only 30 minutes from Bristol, Bath, Wells and Cheddar, you will also be on the doorstep of The Mendips Hills, An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Lower Brook Cottage is a cosy 18th Century cottage located in the picturesque village of Woollard within easy reach of Bristol & Bath. The Cottage is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, families (with kids), and we are also dog friendly (1 small/medium sized well behaved dog is welcome!). Ultra fast fibre broadband is a recent addition for guests needing to work from the cottage or simply surf the internet .

A Roost With A View at Chew Valley Lake

“A Roost With A View” is a self contained cabin in our grounds with views of the Mendip Hills. It is a 3 min walk to Chew Valley Lake & a stroll through fields to Chew Magna with pubs, restaurants & shops. We are on the Sustrains Cycle Way. We are close to Bath, Bristol, Cheddar and Wells. On arrival there will be provided a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and water to get you started.
