The Nook - Obsessively Handmade Hyperlocal AVL

This house is a collection of stories. Stories of cultural and personal history, ecology, and craft. To celebrate this area's incredible legacy of craft, we’ve collaborated with some of the most talented makers in the region. Staying at the Nook you’ll have an experience unheard of in the modern era -- almost everything you touch or interact with was woven, shaped or whittled by hand. *Please note that outdoor bathhouse may not be available during winter months due to low temperatures.

The Understory: Cabin with Outdoor Tub and Sauna

Welcome to The Understory. Nestled deep in the rhododendron covered woods, this romantic hand-crafted tiny home offers you a peaceful and memorable stay just 15 minutes from both Asheville and Black Mountain. The comfortable living space includes a rain shower, king sized bed in a lofted sleeping area, cozy wood stove and a full kitchen. Surrounding the cabin is a large deck with a table and chairs, a luxurious soaking bathtub, and a patio equipped with a fire pit and propane grill.

Scout’s Den Cottage, very close to Black Mountain.

Welcome to Scout's Den! A cozy retreat walkable to all of Black Mountain's amazing restaurants and shopping. This adorable garden studio is separate from the main house and has a carport with space for one vehicle. This is truly an escape! With no internet we encourage our guests to enjoy the natural beauty of the mountains and our small town charm. We do have a TV with a Super Nintendo and DVD player if you feel like staying in. We live on the property full time with our family.

The RhodoDen

As its name suggests, The RhodoDen is a cozy 1974 Airstream Argosy nestled among the rhododendron of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Set along a trickling creek with a bonfire ring and a view of nearby Watch Knob, this is "glamping" at its finest. RhodoDen provides an idyllic place to relax, and is a great basecamp for hiking adventures, dining and nightlife in Asheville and Black Mountain, both of which are only 15 minutes away. Plus we are pet friendly! Update 3/24: We built a roof!

Spruce Fork Cottage

Spruce Fork Cottage is a cozy cabin using some solar energy with 2 bedrooms, living/dining area, kitchen, and bathroom with shower. It is a prefect getaway for 1 to no more than 4 people and is within 20 minutes of Asheville, 15 minutes from Black Mountain, 10 minutes from market/gas. Areas to hike are close by or accessible via the Blue Ridge Parkway. Mount Mitchell is an hour north on BR Parkway, Carl Sandburg is about an hour South. Everyone is welcome.

This unique place has a style all its own. Welcome to the StAy FrAme, a brand new home that is centrally located between Asheville and Black Mountain! Two bedrooms and one bathroom with a full kitchen. Catch the sunset from the hot tub or relax in the barrel sauna after a long hike! Enjoy cool mountain evenings in front of the gas fireplace or the solo stove on the patio! There is also a fenced yard for your furry friends-dogs only please ($75 pet fee)

Delightful 1 bedroom tiny home near Asheville

Our newly built one-bedroom tiny home is the perfect mountain getaway with southern charm. We are located in the valley. Just minutes from downtown Asheville & Black Mountain. With one bedroom & one bathroom, there is space to accommodate 2 adults comfortably. The living space displays a comfortable queen size bed and kitchenette. The outdoor amenities include a large deck offering lounge chairs and gas grill. There is even a creek with a fire pit!

Quiet Cottage Retreat

Adorable cozy cottage located in quiet Grovemont neighborhood (15 minutes from Asheville, 6 minutes to Black Mountain). Just 15 minutes to Asheville, 15 minutes to Black Mountain, and 7 miles to Blue Ridge Parkway Entrance. No steep roads, home is all on one level, with covered parking area. Close to hiking, rafting, galleries, great food, breweries, music and more. Pet fee $50.00.

Jade Tree Place A bit of paradise!

Recently updated private apartment with private entrance and parking space, adjoining, however, separate from the main house, (no space sharing), in a park setting, complete kitchen, queen bed, cable tv, wifi internet , hide a bed sofa in living room, covered porch, 7 acre setting ..located between Asheville (15 minutes) & Black Mountain (10 minutes) 3 miles to Warren Wilson College.
