This is a piece of heaven on earth. It is a beautiful location in the mountains. Ideal for writers wanting to finish a book or people that want time to slow down. I met some of the most caring people in 4 weeks of travel here. The local bar and supermarket is a mist visit. It is quiet and peaceful and I will be returning to this place!

Domingo and his wife Olinda are absolutely gems that I will always treasure in my Heart! I had a lot of questions initially before booking and they were kind to answer everything I needed to know! My stay was super peaceful, the little house was cool on a warm summers day and I slept very good in the bed! It was a blessing to receive home grown yummies from the farm (Potatoes, tomato, apples, grapes, herbs...) and I took some walks into the stunning nature behind the house. I would return there in a heartbeat. The only thing I did not check before booking (which turned out to be a good thing) was that theres NO WIFI - this would't bee something for working travelers that rely on good internet. Also I'd only book in the summer as theres only one coal oven in the kitchen but no other heating in bedroom. This stay is ideal with car. I stayed 5 days without car and I was so grateful that Olinda took me with her to farmers market and supermarket so I had enough food for my stay :) Loved it

Great place in a pretty and private environment! Perfect quinta to relax before going back to work! The owner was really responsive and friendly, giving us privacy too. Awesome stay and highly recommended!

Une belle maison, grande et très propre. Deux terrasses ombragées, dont une avec une vue magnifique. Un réservoir ( piscinette) pour se rafraîchir, utile par fortes chaleurs. Très calme. Les paysages aux alentours sont superbes. Les splendides gorges de Sao Simao sont à quelques minutes en voiture ou à pieds, vous pouvez donc vous y baigner tous les jours. José nous a accueillis chaleureusement, il est d'une grande gentillesse et disponible. Nous avons apprécié sa personnalité. Nous recommandons ce logement, notamment aux personnes qui aiment la nature et la quiétude.

Wir haben uns absolut wohl in dem Häuschen gefühlt. So gut, dass wir sogar spontan verlängert haben. Unsere Kinder durften das vorhandene Spielzeug nutzen und damit sehr happy. Wir haben uns über die Zitrusfrüchte und das leckere Olivenöl gefreut. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich, auch wenn wir die Hosts nicht selbst kennenlernten. Sie waren sehr interessiert, ob alles passt und stets erreichbar. Die Betten waren super bequem und die Nächte ruhig. Landschaftlich ist die Gegend sehr reizvoll und üppig grün. Es gibt tolle Wandermöglichkeiten und Flussbadestellen. Danke für die schöne Zeit!

Gostamos muito da casa. Enorme, bem equipada e cuidada. Excelente espaço para família com animais de estimação, muito espaço exterior. O Andrew foi extremamente simpático e prestável, rápido a responder e generoso ao deixar-nos fazer late check-out. O baloiço da árvore fez imenso sucesso! Recomendamos e vamos voltar!

O espaço da Fernanda é maravilhosamente Cool... é limpo, é cheiroso, confortável, agradável, super em paz e silêncio. Perfeito para descansar e desfrutar da região. A Fernanda é excelente anfitriã e seus animais de estimação também. É um lugar para se sentir em casa... Adorei! Para mim é 5*... voltarei sempre que puder, pois será o meu cantinho favorito de Dornes 🌹💚🩷

we had a fantastic time at Eva's home she was very warm amd responsive. My husband and I went with the 3 children and there was enough space to accomodate us all. The pool was welcome from the heat of Central Portugal, the garden and Parrot were a treat. It is a place you can go back to and stay and the price was affordable. Thanks Eva xxx

Alojamiento con vistas increíbles! Destacamos la parte de abajo bastante espaciosa y con alternativas para pasar una buena tarde jugando al billar, ping pong, futbolín , dardos. Y el kayak ! (aunque a nosotros no nos dio tiempo de usarlo). La zona es muy tranquila, en pleno contacto con la naturaleza. Pueblos pequeños con encanto que visitar y muchas rutas para poder hacer a pie o en bicicleta.

Casa spaziosa e stupenda piscina. Sabina ottimo host. Consigliata.

Pete and Linda are the best hosts we've ever had on Airbnb. They both went out of their way to make us happy and comfortable, from local restaurant recommendations to pool toys and everything in-between. Our daughter had an amazing holiday! The house itself is charming, with tonnes of space and everything you could need. The pool is fantastic and well kept. The local area is remote and beautiful with gorgeous countryside everywhere and some charming river beaches. I managed a run down from the house to the beach and back a couple of times but it's pretty hilly. In short, we couldn't recommend this place more. Thanks

Min familie og jeg havde en dejlig uge hos Denise og hendes datter. Lejligheden var dejlig lys og rummelig, med 3 gode værelser. Vi nød især haven, poolen og citrontræet. Det var nemt at køre ud til de mange smukke byer og vandreture.

O nosso anfiftrião foi muito flexível e afável. Obrigado caro Tiago. O espaço corresponde à descrição e as nossas expectativas. Há climatização em toda a casa, inclusive na casa de banho (ventilador), top! Espaço exterior muito agradável onde os nossos patudos desfrutaram bastante. O espaço é 100% vedado. Para quem gosta de caminhar e/ou correr/ trail, logo a 50m em cima tem um trilho para aproveitar a serra👌⛰️. Obrigado mais uma vez ao Tiago pelas condiçôes oferecidas e pela sua simpatia e disponibilidade.

Paisagem lindíssima. Perfeito para umas mini-férias com todas as condições e tranquilidade. Levámos o nosso cão que adorou todo o espaço para poder correr e brincar.

Best Airbnb we have ever stayed at! Views and location were breathtaking. Eric’s Airbnb was extremely clean & had everything you could need. Eric was an amazing host who went above & beyond for us. Very proactive & helped out with any request we had, even when we needed to find a vet for my dog he was very responsive. The pool was incredible, hiking down to the lake & kayaking will be my favourite parts of our holiday. Already planned a trip for next year!!!

Le logement a été réservé le jour même, très réactif et compréhensif, à notre arrivé on nous attendait, l’accueil très chaleureux et familiale, je recommande très fortement.

We had a fantastic 5 day stay. Lynne greeted us and showed us around. A very well positioned little cottage with spectacular views lots of privacy and everything else you need. It had a little kitchen with all essentials and warmth from either Ac or the log burner made it really comfortable. Thank you for a lovely stay we hope to come again sometime.

Top plek om te kamperen, genoeg privé ruimte in de groene vallei om een tentje neer te zetten. Mogelijkheid om bij een heerlijk ontbijtbuffet aan te schuiven, waarbij Liedewij rekening houdt met onze dieetwensen. Ook het avondeten was gul en zeer smakelijk. Onze hond heeft daar lekker rond kunnen rennen en was van harte welkom.

A estadia foi extremamente revigorante. Aconselho vivamente a quem quiser sair do Stress diário do dia a dia. É óptimo para descansar mas ao mesmo tempo há muito para fazer, foi das estadias por onde passei em que a disponibilidade de diversão e as opções de entretenimento são enormes. O Andy e o Bruno são pessoas muito disponíveis e simpáticas, obrigado por tudo. Fica uma sugestão de melhoria, o check-out poderia ser por volta das 11h da manhã dá a possibilidade às famílias de tomarem o pequeno almoço tranquilamente e organizarem melhor a saída. Resumindo, voltaremos com toda a certeza. Grande abraço para o Andy e Bruno.

This is a great space in a real out-of-the-way part of Portugal. Tired of big city tourism? Try this property. Tiny villages dot the hills and you get an old world sense of Portugal here. The pool is the real star of the property here (as are Eric's three dogs, one of which lounged with us each morning) as it overlooks he view of the river. We did use the kayaks as well. It is hard to get to them down a very steep hill with ladders and a bit of minor repelling. Not for those with a bad knee or hip. Which gets me to, accessing the apartments, particularly the lower unit, is tricky. Steep, slanting and uneven steps that can be a little slippery. Perhaps not for the elderly. Hint for improvement would be to upgrade the furnishings and kitchenware. The knives couldn't cut an orange.

So richtig herrlich wurde es, als es aufhörte zu regnen und wir auf der gemütlichen kleinen Terrasse frühstücken und im Schatten auf den Liegen stundenlang lesen konnten. Toller Blick auf den Stausee! Vielen Dank, Francisco! Auch für das Vitamin in Form von frischen Orangen und die bereitgestellte Saftpresse!

Vielen Dank nochmal für die wundervolle Zeit bei euch. Wir sind noch immer verzaubert von dem schönen, ruhigen Ort mitten in den Bergen. Ihr habt dieses Zuhause mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und haltet den Ort sehr naturnah und sehr sauber.  Eines unserer Highlights waren eure tollen Gemeinschaftsräume wie die schöne, geschmackvoll eingerichtete Terasse und die gemütliche "honesty bar" inklusive Bürcherei. Auch der versteckte Wasserfall, zu dem man wandern kann, war besonders toll für uns. Die Zeit bei euch hat sich angefühlt wie eine kleine Entdeckungsreise. In unserer Unterkunft wurde an alles gedacht – vom Bademantel bis hin zur Wärmflasche. So kann man diesen Ort bei jeder Wetterlage genießen.
