Located between Albany, the Berkshires & Columbia County, a perfect place for trips to quaint country towns, concerts, sports events, summer music venues, & great eateries. Hike, jog or bike the scenic Empire State Hudson Albany Rail Trail, just steps away. Kayak or fish; enjoy a BBQ and late night chats around the firepit, or enjoy a magnificent sunset from the sunroom. If you're lucky you'll catch a glimpse of resident Swans & Bald Eagles on the lake! If you are a nature lover and like comfort then this place is for you. Former home of the Martin Van Buren hunting lodge and more recently, the Hudson Boys Club. 26 private acres with 1500 ft of lakefront: swimming, kayaking and fishing - bring your fishing rod! Burden Lake House. Lake front, Large, & Nice views

Our great room has large windows (watch the bald eagles), couches, and gas fireplace (seasonal). Cozy up in the cozy room, Cook in the beautiful chefs kitchen. 4 bedrooms (2 king rooms and 2 queen rooms, all w/ desks). 4 full baths (3 w/ showers and 1 w/ tub), all bedrooms are on second floor, good WiFi. The lake dock and deck is open to guests with lake access (seasonal). Swim and use kayaks at own risk, owner is not liable. You cannot use your boat on our dock due to insurance. Questions? Ask!

Hummingbird Cottage

Overlooking beautiful Burden Lake, the gem of the Rensselaer Plateau, Hummingbird Cottage is a peaceful, comfortable, adorable vacation home. Famous for clear water and excellent year-round fishing, Burden Lake is the largest lake in Rensselaer County. Kayaks & canoes are provided. Centrally located 20 min from Albany, 40 min from Saratoga, 30 min from the Berkshires, & a 1 mile paddle to Kay’s Pizza! See eagles, ospreys, and, yes, hummingbirds! River Camp 4 - rustic simplicity

Rustic riverfront camp on the Mohawk. A camp like when you used to visit grandma at the lake. Full kitchen and bathroom, cute bedroom, relaxing porch with full window view of the river. Private backyard with no neighbors. Free kayaks and tubes on property. 24 minutes to Saratoga and 12 minutes to any store or restaurant you could want. Chairs on the river overlook the Twin Bridges. This is a quirky camp - so best to book only if you know the different between a camp and a luxury property.

Lakefront cottage on burden lake in Averill park

Waterfront rental on the second burden lake in Averill park. Large dock for fishing and swimming off of. Gradual incline into the water. Three bedroom, one bath plus outdoor shower & washer dryer Canoes, paddle board, dock & splash pad. WiFi & tv with Netflix, ac & heat Firepit with wood & grill for cooking Close to Kay’s pizza, June farms, the sand lake merchant & hoffay farms for ice cream. 30 minutes to the berkshires or Great Barrington. 20 minutes to jiminy peak ski mtn.

Lake House in Averill Park, NY (age 30+ excl kids)

Our lake house is on Glass Lake in Averill Park, NY. In case you want to venture off, it is close to Saratoga (race season!), the Berkshires MA, Albany NY, and Vermont. Incredibly private with spacious property. Our lake house is great for families with kids and couples, and handicap accessible. It is great for any season (leaves, skiing, fishing, swimming). Kayaks, row boat.....and the lake!! Age requirement of at least 30 years old for guests (except kids).

Cozy Retreat in the Trees

Time travel to 1958 in this architectural gem! This mid-century modern glass and wood cabin is 300 yards away from a charming small lake. The house is NOT on the lake itself, but it is surrounded by trees in a lovely secluded spot. The only heat is a wood stove... but there is a 4-person cedar barrel sauna in the woods that is electric. A classic 1952 Spartanette travel trailer serves as an extra bedroom. This is a true retreat for romance and adventure.
