Nestled in a small valley, this quaint cabin is a perfect mountain getaway. Built in 1890, by the Lakes family, it has a romantic, rustic and nostalgic feel. If you are a history buff, interested in Appalachian culture, or just want a charming, outdoorsy and secluded getaway, this cabin is for you. Historic year-round cabin along lakeshore w/dock

The lake home was built in the early 1930's to house the engineers constructing the entire TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) system that created dams and hydro-electric power throughout the region. It also provided jobs that helped with employment during the Great Depression. A wonderful addition we made recently was a dock, which remains in the water from sometime in March until late October. Please note this is an old, quaint home. It has its quirks.
