Built in 1880 by Dr. A.C. Shepherd, this historic cottage has served as a doctor’s office, a general store, and a boarding house. The cottage is located at marker p12 on the New River Trail. From the wrap around porch, you can listen to the rapids cascading into Claytor Lake. A boat launch is conveniently located less than 1/2 mile away. The cottage boasts historically preserved features as well as luxury and comfort for guests. It is the perfect location to play, relax, or both!

Cozy Farm Cottage with a View 3.3 MILES OFF I-77

Come enjoy quiet seclusion on a 210 acre farm located 5 miles from Winterplace ski resort and Weathered Grounds Brewery in Ghent WV! Self check-in on a private half mile long road. Feed the fish with two ponds full of blue gill, coy, bass and catfish. Hike or mountain bike on logging trails throughout the property while stopping to pick blackberries or apples. Then come drink hot chocolate next to the fireplace, or have a glass of wine while watching the sunset on the covered porch!

The Boat House

The Boat House is a newly remodeled studio space. It’s a unique place to stay, located on a private dead end road right on the water with beautiful views it’s 5 minutes from I 81. Perfect for Virginia Tech home sporting events. It’s also perfect for Virginia Tech and Radford University Graduations, weekend or weekly family getaway. You will have access to the dock on the property for fishing and swimming, there is available space at the dock if you have your own watercraft.
