The house offers a queen bedroom with connecting dedicated office, bedroom with two twin beds, one full bath downstairs and a half bath upstairs, washer & dryer, fully decked out kitchen, high speed internet, Airplay TV, back porch with patio table and chairs, volleyball/badminton, cornhole, board games, and ample parking

The Pig Shed Writer’s Retreat at Barter Lady Farm

Newly renovated with all new bathroom! The Pig Shed is an idyllic setting, close to Gettysburg and McDaniel College. Dogs under 50lbs welcome for Additional Fee, see House Manual for rules/fees for dogs. A unique retreat, fantastic for exploring local sites and nature watching. The studio features a queen sized bed, a full size futon, 3/4 bath, microwave, air fryer, hot plate, gas grill, incredible views and lots of quiet, access to a pond, hiking trails, a fire pit, and can visit the chickens.

Dining room opens to a small outdoor patio. Large capacity washer and dryer. Walk back to the pasture to visit the horse, sheep and chickens. Private entrance with parking for up to 2 cars. Wifi available. 1 hour to DC, 1 hour to Gettysburg, 45 min to Baltimore, 20 min to Frederick and 30min to I-95.

There are a lot of events in town, many walking paths through-out the community, a train that runs along the Patapsco River and through brick tunnels built in the 1800's. Nearby McDaniel College, Stevenson College, Patapsco State Park and Howard County Fair Grounds. You are less than an hour to Gettysburg, Antietam, Harpers Ferry, Baltimore, and Frederick, and about 1.5 hours from Washington, DC.

A quiet, restful retreat.

This is an in-law suite with private entrance attached to our home in a quiet neighborhood. There is a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room with sofa bed, bathroom and bedroom with queen bed and sofa bed. Folding baby crib (pack n play) with sheets and blankets available. There is a foldable single bed also available. We are an hour away from D.C. and Dulles Airport and 30 minutes away from Baltimore and BWI Airport. Street parking is available.

The Red Barn

The Red Barn is located in a very rural setting about 10 miles from Gettysburg. The Red Barn is approximately 1/2 mile off the main road and within a stone's throw of the Mason Dixon Line. If you are looking for a quiet space with not super internet this is the place. Plenty of books to read, miniature donkeys to watch playing with their border collie pal and on a clear night - see some awesome stars!
