Your private apartment in the lower level of our home is much like a motel room, but BETTER! Because here you will have stunning private views of mountains during the day, and at night, you will have unpolluted views of the stars. Plus, motels are in cities. Here you will experience quiet. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). I do have a 50.00 pet fee per dog up to 2 dogs only. It is located just above the entrance to the Smoke Hole Canyon with great fishing, beautiful scenery along the paved country curvy road. You can drive through the canyon and come out on Rt 28 just below the Smoke Hole caverns and gift shop. Then continue to Seneca Rocks and hike the rocks or drive to Nelson Rocks for zip lining.

You'll enjoy the modern kitchen, the luxurious bath with glass shower and soaking tub, and the relaxing backyard patio area with woodland view, hot tub, and firepit. You'll have surprising privacy from main house, proximity to small-town amenities like grocery, pharmacy, and restaurants, and short drive to favorites such as Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob in Pendleton County, West Virginia.

Get comfortable with mountain views and fresh, clean air at 3,200' altitude, close to Canaan Valley/Blackwater Falls State Parks. Also, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks and Spruce Knob (highest point of WV). Lots of hiking/biking trails. Unique shopping in Davis and Thomas with a variety of restaurants. Fast food? An adventurous, scenic drive goes to Parsons, with the only McDonald's and traffic light in the county. Relax on the back deck to view the horse pasture and the small private airport.

The Riverside Retreat on the Shavers Fork

Bordering the Shaver Fork and Monongahela National Forest, the cottage is a relaxing retreat. It boasts two living areas-a bedroom and great room that can accommodate six people. Paths to hike, trails to bike and fish to catch. Seneca Rocks, diverse eateries, unusual shops, Blackwater Falls and Canaan State Parks, Dolly Sods, four ski resorts, Otter Creek, four excursion trains, a dinner music theatre, four festivals,and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory are all nearby.

"Trout & About" Cabin located in Bemis, WV is the perfect place to unplug & enjoy the Appalachian Mountains located just 50 ft off the banks of the Shavers Fork River. Come enjoy fishing, swimming, hiking to Mule Hole & take a train ride to High Falls. Drive over the hill to Glady you will find the walking & bike trails of the West Fork Rail Trail. Come disconnect and unwind while taking in the beautiful WV mountains and fresh air. Please note there is NO cell service in the area.

The Davis Ridge - Mt Views, Fireplace, Balcony

This beautiful property is centrally located close to Davis, Thomas and Canaan Valley's most famous attractions. Witness the sunrises and sunsets over the mountains from the balcony, take a dip in the heated seasonal pool, get cozy and warm next to the wood fireplace (free firewood included), cook a delicious meal on the outdoor grill, and end the day toasting from the balcony and cuddled by the fire. You're only a few minutes from all the major sites and attractions in the area.

Stay in the masterfully crafted Lemuel Chenoweth homestead along the rippling Tygart river. Built in 1857, this 2nd floor suite offers antiques furnishings, a private entrance, master bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and mud room. It has a queen bed, dresser, large porch with views of the river, a clawfoot tub with shower, sink, toilet, and a well stocked farmhouse kitchenette with a double induction cook top, sink , fridge and more. We do not offer a TV. Near Elkins.

Rental includes all modern amenities, linens, BBQ, fire pit, Hot Tub, Fireplace, Corn Hole, games, and Adirondack chairs overlooking the Shavers Fork of the Cheat River. Please note AWD vehicles are recommended in winter weather.

Glady Hideaway

Glady Hideaway is a quaint one room cabin perfect for two wishing to escape the chaos and spend some time one on one. Here, you can stay “unplugged” if you desire. Wi-Fi is now available but please note connection can be unreliable and slow at times in the mountains. The surrounding area offers many outdoor activities and charming mountain towns to explore. AWD/4WD is required from early December to March.
