Jacky Winter Gardens - Modern, Artistic Cabin Close to Creek

Recharge by the open fireplace of this beautiful cabin, sequestered in the Dandenong Ranges. Rustic on the outside, modern on the inside, this serene space inspires relaxation in proximity to wild nature, far from the stresses of daily life. Designed by interior architects Hearth Studio, Jacky Winter Gardens brings together the calming waters of Clematis Creek, the rich soil of the gardens, the pure air of the Dandenong Ranges and every modern convenience you can imagine to give you a wholly satisfying holiday experience. Our mission is to offer private and secluded luxury accommodation for visitors to the hills, including singles, couples and small groups, as well as showcase the work of our artists and incorporate it into the day-to-day life of the house. Through our monthly artist-in-residence program we also support other commercial artists working in any discipline. We’ve feathered our nest with work from some of The Jacky Winter Group’s world-renowned stable of artists. From custom-made glasswork and wallpaper, to games and framed prints, you’ll become acquainted with new artists, or perhaps be reunited with some you already know. The beautiful Clematis Creek meanders along the bottom of the gardens, and its cheerful burbling is the aural backdrop to your stay. If you want to get closer to the water there is easy and safe access down to the creekbank, which makes it the ideal spot for meditation or private reflection. Located just 45-minutes from Melbourne by car, and situated within walking distance to the town centre with its wonderful Cameo Cinemas, Jacky Winter Gardens straddles the two worlds of nature and civilisation, achieving a perfect holiday balance for solo travellers, couples and small groups. None, but available on phone, email, and in person (when possible) to answer any questions! The house is a luxury creative retreat set amidst a half-acre of stunning flora, a creek, and natural bushland. The wild yet tranquil beauty of the Dandenong Ranges has attracted artists to the area for more than a century. Jacky Winter Gardens is situated in Belgrave, Victoria, a short walk from the train station and centre of town. Full directions will be provided upon booking. Car – Belgrave is a 45-minute drive from Melbourne. Train – From Flinders Street Station, catch the Belgrave train to Belgrave Station (it takes just over an hour). Jacky Winter Gardens is a ten-minute walk along a paved walkway from the train station. Jacky Winter Gardens is the perfect retreat for solo travellers or couples, but we are able to accommodate up to five guests: two in the master bedroom, two in the living room on the double-bed fold-out sofa, and one in the studio on a single sofa bed. Jacky Winter Gardens is now dog and child friendly. We also accept single night bookings when available. ***Please message us if you wish to bring your pet or want to stay for a single night before booking*** Each additional guest (beyond the first two) will incur a tariff of 25.00 per night. Unfortunately, due to site limitations, there is no wheelchair access at this time. Due to our location in a high fire risk area, we also have detailed Fire Safety policies which are outlined on our website, which once again is not hard to find.

Pour a glass of wine, light a fire, and enjoy the fresh air and surrounding forest setting from total privacy in the cosy living room before retiring to the spacious bedroom. The home is located near Belgrave Township, close to the Puffing Billy railway and just a short drive from the gorgeous towns of Sassafras, Olinda, and Mt. Dandenong. A lovely English-style tavern with live music sits at the end of our quiet street. Killlik Rum distillery is also at the end of the street for food and cocktails. Parking out front on road (cul de sac) Bus stop on corner to access hills towns Belgrave station 10 minutes walk Steps up to the house. Two cats live on property (Buddy & Braveheart) but probably wont impact on guests unless they are cat lovers!

Located close to the Belgrave Sth shops, an easy drive to the Dandenongs' top attractions, and situated on 3.5 acres of native bushland and natural granite; this self-contained studio is a perfect base for couples and small families to experience all the hills have to offer. Enjoy the "toots" of Puffing Billy in the distance as you sip on a beverage while overlooking Menzies Creek, or take a walk down our private path to our little rainforest and discover the abundance of native flora and fauna.

Menzies Cottage

Menzies Cottage is an hour east of Melbourne & set high on a mountain-side in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Enjoy views out to the Wellington Road farmlands & Cardinia Reservoir. On a clear day you can see Arthur’s Seat, Port Phillip & Westernport Bays. Visit nearby Puffing Billy Steam Train, go bushwalking, feed the friendly farm animals or settle-in for a lazy afternoon before watching the sun set. The cottage is fully self contained & with your own private entrance, deck & enclosed garden.

Welcome to Steep Creek Retreat, a peaceful oasis. You'll be treated to a warm and comfortable 3 bedroom house nestled in the rainforest, with views of Belgrave Lake Park, trees and ferns, possums, birds and the most wonderful forest sights and sounds. Feed rainbow lorikeets on the verandah, sit by the fire, relax in the bath, scramble down to the park and Monbulk Creek walks, or stroll to Puffing Billy or Belgrave's bands, bars and night life. When you're here, it feels like another world.

Enjoy your own private entrance, a cosy gas fire, a luxury bathroom, and a welcoming space with large windows that frame the forest surrounds. Thoughtful touches make every stay special., including a delicious continental breakfast. To keep the retreat calm & carefree, The Sett does not include full cooking facilities. A kettle, coffee machine, and toaster are provided.

A cozy guest suite, beautifully designed for unique and inspiring stay. its ideal for a couple, and situated on the ground floor, completely privet, and divided by acoustic wall. It’s in the heart of our native garden available for you at all times. There are loads of amenities listed, have a look at what your stay can look like. Heating and cooling via our A/C And There are musical instruments to enjoy. Use the hammock, fire pit or a privet bbq area. Wi-Fi and Streaming available.

Merri Loft

Escape to Merri Loft, our charming sunlit cottage providing a cozy haven for relaxation and a perfect base to explore the Dandenong Ranges. Begin your mornings with a leisurely stroll to the delightful Proserpina Bakehouse before ventureing into nature with walking trails such as Sherbrooke Forest, Alfred Nicholas Gardens, and the iconic 1000 Steps. Alternatively, unwind indoors by the open fire, soak in the inviting bathtub, and luxuriate in the comfort of French linen sheets.

Sunrise Cottage (at Mont du Soleil Estate)

Sunrise Cottage part of the 'Mont du Soleil' Estate, located in Emerald on 40 acres, in the heart of the beautiful Dandenongs. A truly unique property inspired by the buildings & grounds of Provence & Tuscany. You’ll love the unique design & ambience of the property, the stunning views, peace and tranquility; yet less than an hour by car from Melbourne CBD. Featured on Neighbours Xmas special December 2024. Note: We host photo shoots on the property but NOT in the Cottage.

The Gables 2

The Gables is a gracious old house on three beautiful acres in Belgrave, close to wedding venues, national park, Trees adventure and Puffing Billy. We do not allow events at all, but we have many brides who stay with their bridesmaids on the eve of their wedding and have beautiful pre-wedding photos taken here. We are limited in parking to only 5 cars. There is a bathroom for each double room. Please be aware that we live on the property in the cottage next door.

Dingleigh of Sassafras - Reader's Cottage

A forest hideaway in the Dandenong Ranges. Nestled between ferns and maples, Dingleigh of Sassafras is one of the original cottages on the property, lovingly restored and updated. Walking proximity to Sassafras, local shops, famous gardens & the national park. Dingleigh and its gardens offer an ideal location for wedding preparations and small wedding ceremonies. Photo shoots and video locations are also available upon request.
