This lake house sits on a quiet no outlet street in Portage Lakes. Fully fenced in large backyard with a deck to enjoy the views. Large fully stocked kitchen with everything you need, incl. new HE washer and dryer. One bedroom has a queen bed facing the lake and the other has a double/twin bunk bed. Private parking in the driveway; electronic keypad entry on the side door. This home feels secluded but still only a 10 minute drive to downtown Akron and 40 minute drive to downtown Cleveland.

Located in residential, urban area on main road w/ train nearby. NOT a quiet suburban or woodsy area. We host the home, not the neighborhood. Real people live there and we’re just trying to make travel affordable. Stores nearby!

Kayaks are available, as well as kayak trailers and the boat ramp is an easy 3-minute walk. We have a full set of fishing gear for adults & children. We guarantee you will enjoy your stay!

Being 5 minutes from Downtown Akron, 35 minutes from Downtown Cleveland, and 10 minutes from Cuyahoga Valley National Park, there is a lot of nightlife, hiking and biking in the area. All are welcome!

The JoKo Cottage

Welcome to our cozy little cottage built in the early 1930’s by a then well-known artist, Joe Koch (JoKo was his artist name). Joe designed and built the cottage and is full of his unique style. It was featured in 1950 in The Akron Beacon Journal with lots of pictures! All of the wormy chestnut wood (wood with holes in it) is original to the cottage. Even the tile by the fireplace is original. In this place many beautiful things were created. We hope you find beauty here too!

Super cozy studio guest apartment with a living room/dining room. TVs in both the living room and studio bedroom. Bring your own boat or enjoy the paddle boards we have here on the property. Walking distance to several different awesome restaurants! Hot tub and sauna are down the stairs on the below deck and free for guests to use!
