Windrose - Camden Windward House

The Windrose Suite has a private front porch and entrance, and is located up a private staircase on the 2nd floor of the Windward House Inn. This romantic suite has the feel of an apartment with its cozy front facing sitting room and gas fireplace. The separate bedroom is furnished with a high luxurious queen bed and boasts multiple windows on both sides for cross ventilation. A unique highlight of the Windrose Suite, is its spacious en-suite bathroom. Soak in the old-fashioned claw foot tub, or step into the large walk-in shower depending on your bathing preferences. The Windrose Suite has a unique history. CPT Elijah Glover (1792-1868) was a lumberman and shipbuilder who utilized its sitting room as his office and place of business, when he built the house in the 1850s. It takes its name after the graphic tool used to give a succinct view of how wind speed and direction are typically distributed at a particular location. Before the development of the compass rose, a wind rose was included on maps in order to let the reader know which directions the 8 major winds were blowing. All guest rooms include a complimentary two course, fresh, made to order, breakfast.

The inviting bay window seat offers a full to partial view of the ocean, depending on the season. Ocean breezes and a ceiling fan keeps this room comfortable in warmer months. Guest room in a private home

My home is located in a small town on a dirt road and very private. The rt 1 coast/ocean is about 25 minutes away and offers lighthouses, lobster and Maine hospitality. This guest room has a full size bed that is stacked with pillows and an antique quilt, dresser and closet space. The bathroom boasts of a shower as well as a claw foot bathtub should you wish to lay back and relax. There is a television, and an air conditioner in the warmer months as well as a ceiling fan as an alternative.

Colonial House in Quiet River Town

Feel as if you are staying at quintessential Maine B&B for half the cost! Winterport is a sleepy historical town located on the Penobscot River. My colonial home is surrounded by rolling fields and Maine woods for exploring but you are only a 20 minute drive away from Bangor, 40 minutes away from Belfast and an hour to Acadia National Park. This space is ideal if you are vacationing in mid-coast Maine but do not want to pay tourist prices at a Bed & Breakfast.
