Tapada da Raia

Tapada da Raia has 35 acres of land, in the Natural Park of Serra de São Mamede (being the last Portuguese house, because it is bordered to Spain). For years it served as an anti-stress refuge for the family, who today decided to open the doors for those who want to spend relaxing days in the nature. The rustic-style house features the necessary amenities for an invigorating holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, where even time seems to take longer to pass. Hope you like it!

No coração do Parque Natural da Serra de S.Mamede, está rodeado de uma grande variedade de flora autóctone, como Sobreiros, Oliveiras, Carvalhos ou árvores de fruto. Atravessado pelo rio Sever e uma ribeira que convida a banhos refrescantes pelas suas inúmeras quedas de água. Dispõe ainda de duas verdadeiras piscinas naturais, antigos tanques de rega reaproveitados.

It is a paradise for those seek to unplug and reconnect to a slower pace of life while experimenting with off-grid living: solar electricity for lights, solar and firewood heating systems, low pressure water system, compost toilet, no mobile or internet networks available inside the house. You will have access to a splash tank, food garden, trekking paths and a small waterfall.

Our little stone cottage lies on a stream and has views of the beautiful hills and meadows full of olive and cork trees. In the garden you will find some fruit trees, herbs and flowers. Not far there is a nice waterfall to enjoy hot summer days. This is a peaceful place to relax. Here you can get immersed in nature's beauty, enjoy the sky full of stars and listen to the sheep's bells chiming.
