Mill Cottage: Captivating Riverside 1 Bed Cottage

This beautiful cottage is situated in an idyllic location; listen to the gurgling river as you drift off to sleep. One minute's walk away over a Victorian swing bridge is an enchanting pebble beach. Here you may see seals, puffins, dolphins, salmon, otters and plenty of seabirds depending on the season. Ideally placed for the North Coast 500, this modernised cottage is warm and cosy with central heating and hot water provided by a biomass boiler, and a wood burning stove for cooler nights.

On the North Coast 500 route, this property offers an ideal location for exploring both Caithness and Sutherland. Melvich boasts a sandy beach within a 5 minute walk from the cottage. Taigh Neonach is Gaelic for odd cottage which suits its slightly unconventional character. Whilst superbly modernised throughout, Torran cottage retains its original features, including wonderful flagstone flooring in the main living room, deep-silled windows set into thick stone walls, and a large wood burner for cosy evenings. The views from the cottage and gardens are unbelievable. Panoramic vistas look east to Morven and the Scarabens, south to Ben Klibreck and west to distant views of Ben Loyal and Ben Hope. The gardens are spacious, a delight!

Welcome to my 17th-century original working croft cottage. Set in the stunning Highlands, directly on the NC500 in the small rural village of Melvich. Just a short walk from Melvich beach great for swimming, fishing, surfing, or just a gentle stroll along the beach, a truly beautiful getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The cottage whilst boasting all modern amenities still keeps a lot of its original features.
