my crew and I stayed here for the Rim to River 100. centrally located near Fayetteville it was great for our needs as we traveled around the gorge.

This was the perfect "home base" for an outdoor getaway. The wifi was reliable and fast, and helped us stay connected to the necessary travel basics (maps, local business listings, etc.), but the natural surroundings invited us to disconnect from everything unnecessary. The screened porch with hot tub was an absolute delight every morning and evening. Heating provided by a gas fireplace hooked up to a thermostat - no fuss, super cozy. Kitchen had everything we needed for a few simple meals. We had an awesome time and would happily return!

The cabin was in a fantastic spot. Woods surround the cabin and make it feel very private even though there are other cabins neighbors. The circular driveway made it easy for our cars to get in and out. There's a meadow on the other side of the driveway with chairs and a fire pit. Everything was sparkling clean, including the hot tub! They had lots of towels and all of the dishes we needed (pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils). The AC was great, we never ran out of hot water, and they had 2 refrigerators. We've stayed at a lot of cabins in this area of WV over the years and this is by far our favorite. We highly recommend it for large groups!

Clean, quiet, clear communication with Jennifer our host. The house centrally located to many activities. We had a wonderful short getaway and went rafting on the new river gorge. It was a wonderful time. We highly recommend it.

The cabin was absolutely beautiful and well kept. There were a lot of memorabilia related to the history of the cabin and farm. Hands down favorite part was the giant screened in porch with fireplace and hot tub. We even bought an air mattress to "camp out" one night on the porch. Best sleep I've had in years! Like every place in WV, it's a bit off the main roads, but that's the appeal. No traffic to contend with and quiet relaxation. Even with the drive, groceries and some restaurants are only about 20 min away. Would definitely go back.

I love the New River Gorge National Park and this was the perfect, peaceful location for my partner to spend a week relaxing in the area. We especially loved the wood burning fire place with provided wood and the hot tub. The location isn't "private", but you still feel plenty private with how the surrounding cabins are laid out. Great King sized bed as well!

Second time we have stayed and have enjoyed each. Large farm house, is starting to show its age but that adds to the character. Pool and hot tub worked perfectly, Only 6 miles from Fayetteville. Great place for a large group on a rafting adventure.

This place was amazing. Really enjoyed our time here. The house is very nice and location is awesome. Would definitely come back again!

Great cabin that is very close to Gauley Fest location. I also love how secluded it was and it came with our own fire pit!

We loved our stay and was I extremely happy I was able to bring my elderly diabetic dog with me so I didn't worry about him while I was away celebrating my birthday with my family.

We loved our stay in the McGrath house! We were in town for a wedding at the Gaines Estate and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The home was exceptionally clean and full of thoughtful amenities. The neighborhood is super walkable - easy to get to restaurants and shops, even the public library! It is also walkable to the Gaines Estate itself, although we drove due to shoe choices and weather, it was nice to know we could walk back if we ended up celebrating too much to drive. It was also very convenient to be right across the street from Pies and Pints! We also stayed in Bill and Sally's other house in town, the Wiseman house, which connects to this house via the backyard and was a great way for our large family to stay together with plenty of space and privacy for all.

We came down to whitewater raft and zipline with Adventures on the Gorge. The cabin was so close to Adventures on the Gorge. It is nice and secluded, and has everything you need for your getaway! The hottub was great after a long day of adventuring. The host gave great local recommendations and even stopped by our first night to see if we needed anything. Our two boys (10 and 12) enjoyed the woods around the cabin. The personal touches were amazing- fresh flowers on the table, fresh baked cookies, and souvenir glasses to take home! I have stayed many places, but this one is a favorite for sure!

Went for a birthday weekend and had a great time! Location is great. Feels secluded but 10 minutes away from a Walmart and plenty of places to eat. Cabin was beautiful, it was clean, hot tub was great also. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our stay in the cabin. It was so peaceful. We got visits from deer every evening & shows from the lightning bugs every night. We enjoyed eating our meals on the screened in patio. The hot tub was the perfect way to relax before bed. The twin beds were not very comfortable (& they were also really squeaky). The other beds were fine, though. If you’re terrified of bugs & spiders, this probably isn’t the place for you. They weren’t excessive, but they were regularly visible. Mostly daddy long legs, nothing too scary.

Colleen was very clear with instructions and described in great detail how to find our way to her property, which is uniquely situated and yet near to so many special places. The beds were very comfortable, decor was tasteful. and outdoor lighting was muted but very beautiful. We particularly appreciate her devotion to mother nature; her garden includes many native plantings and the native trees that surround the property makes one feel the ambience. The comfortable deck thrusts right into the woods, giving lots of privacy and enjoyment of the songs of native and migrating birds. Being there made me wish our grandkids were on this trip, for they would have loved it as much as we did. Located in such a great spot is another plus: Private but also situated close to a cool town as well as the rivers and historic towns, it is a great jumping off spot for exploring.

beautiful location; for double bed need to push two rollsy singles together; plenty of upstairs sleeping- but for 2 persons it’s $100/night each….nice outdoor table and firepit

Pictures don't do it justice. Located perfectly for New River or Gauley related trips. Everything you need. Clean, quiet, beautiful. Very close to bridge, great spot for Bridge Day.

Expect a clean cabin and exactly as listed. We have stayed at this cabin area for the last three years and always have a great experience.

We loved our stay in the Wiseman house! We were in town for a wedding at the Gaines Estate and we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. We will absolutely be coming back for a longer stay to explore the area - I loved that the kitchen is so thoughtfully stocked with everything you might need for a longer visit. The neighborhood is super walkable - easy to get to restaurants and shops, even the public library! It is also walkable to the Gaines Estate itself, although we drove due to shoe choices and weather, it was nice to know we could walk back if we ended up celebrating too much to drive! Although we ended up not bringing our dogs, the house and yard would have been perfect for them too! We also stayed in Bill and Sally's other house in town, the McGrath house, which connects to this house via the backyard and was a great way for our large family to stay together with plenty of space and privacy for all.
