Sehr gute Wohnung in zentraler Lage. Die Unterkunft ist mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen angenehmen Aufenthalt braucht. Man sollte jedoch bedenken, dass sich die Wohnung in zentraler Lage des Ortes befindet – dementsprechend sind auch Verkehrsgeräusche wahrnehmbar, die jedoch nachts größtenteils abklingen. Die Wohnung selbst ist sehr sauber und gut eingerichtet. Der Vermieter war jederzeit erreichbar; der Kontakt war freundlich und wertschätzend. Stornoway ist ein hervorragender Ausgangspunkt, um die traumhafte Insel zu erkunden. Ich kann die Wohnung uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

John & Jackie were so friendly. They couldn't do any more for us. John was very knowledgeable about the history of the building. He also went through all the things we needed to know to make our stay more comfortable. It was a lovely place to stay very different from the norm and nice to stay off the grid for a while. Jackie also rang and ordered us some free range eggs to pick up on the way home which were delicious.

The Whale’s Tail Townhouse Stornoway

We had a wonderful 3 nights at Jim’s place. Wish we could have stayed longer. He had thought of everything and it was a real home from home. Very close to town and the ferry terminal. Heated up really quickly and was so cosy we didn’t need the wood burner. Comfy beds and couches. The outside space was an added bonus. Thanks Jim, we hope to return some day!

Great location in "downtown" of Tarbert. Loved all the little extras and personal touches. Really went above and beyond. Would give 6 stars if I could, so thoughtful to leave snacks, soaps, etc.... Laundry facilities were a godsend! Really wonderful!

The Cottage at Coille Bheag

Had a great time spending 3 nights in Scotland's North West. The property was clean, tidy and comfortable. It was a perfect base for exploring the great local beaches, hill walks and Inverewe Gardens. Alasdair was a great host, always responsive and helpful and we would happily return here someday, we would definitely recommend.

Myself, husband, 2 kids and their grandparents stayed in this beautiful cottage. We were really impressed with the cleanliness, the gorgeous decor, and the amenities (there was even milk, bread and butter for us!). My oldest daughter also loved the house and felt right at home. Fantastic location as well, just a 8 minute drive to the Stornoway town. We honestly cannot recommend this place enough if you are visiting Lewis. Thank you Mark!

Beautiful, quiet and serene location, spent hours watching wildlife in the loch from the hot tub and from the sofa. We saw an otter, a seal and a grey heron in the bay. A very helpful and thorough guide to the island and a nice map on the wall. Good location for visiting all corners of the island. House very clean and comfortable. Owner was kind and allowed us to borrow kayaks/paddleboards for the loch which was perfect. A good pair of binoculars to use in the apartment. Couldn’t ask for more! Moran taing.

Great communication from booking to departure. House is much bigger inside than it looks from outside. Lots of little touches which make it a home from home from fresh flowers on the table complementing luxury air scents to tea and cakes on arrival. Located in a residential area but lots of parking directly outside. Even a gorgeous highland cow on the other side of the garden fence.

Hebrides Cottage

We had a brilliant stay in Hebrides Cottage, owner Janice was excellent with her quick, helpful communication….we found everything we could possibly want or need was provided…..it was exceptionally clean. The cottage was in a fantastic peaceful location, the views from the bedrooms and kitchen were absolutely amazing. We visited local restaurants in Stornoway, and it was very easy to drive in to go to a variety of small shops and get supplies from the large Tesco and Co-op supermarkets. We visited many local sites, Callanish Stones, Dun Calloway - the best preserved Broch, Gearrannan Blackhorse, Butt of Lewis, Lews Castle and the very informative museum about Hebridean island life, we will definitely come back to stay again. Thank you Janice for a great stay.

Joan was super responsive. Although her instructions were limited to 2 pages, she answered any question I had within minutes. The area is lovely and she recommended The Brewery, which is a great restaurant with a wide selection of beers brewed on the premises. She also recommended a local weaver, which was a highlight of our stay. The house had what we needed. The heating boost was easy to use.

We had a lovely stay at Janet’s air bnb. Great location. It was very clean and cosy. Janet was a great host and very supportive when our ferry was cancelled! We would definitely stay again/recommend to friends ☺️

we had a wonderful stay at the Mackay house. It was just as described, plenty of room, clean and very well equipped with everything one will need. Communication was great. Christina was there to meet us right as we arrived and she went through everything about the house with us. Very helpful. Thank you for everything. we hope to return and stay again!

Tigh na Beart is a cosy all year round retreat

This was my third visit in four years to Tigh na Beart. I love it there! Lovely and relaxing and the property is perfectly equipped. Just a few minutes from a lovely little beach and some spectacular cliff edge seaside walks, it really is perfect for unwinding and getting away from it all. Neighbours all very friendly too. Not too far either to explore all the fabulous nautral beauty that Lewis and Harris have to offer. Very highly recommended!

A beautiful little place in the peaceful setting of Port Ness. Chris was very helpful with detailed instructions so finding the place, getting in and figuring out heating etc was super easy. The house is spotless, well decorated, quiet and comfortable - all you can ask for. Walking distance to Eoropie beach and about 40 minutes drive from Stornoway, which adds to the quiet experience. Highly recommended and would stay again

This is a fantastic cottage with wonderful views in a truly unique part of the world. The house was spotlessly clean, recently decorated and in keeping with the character and history of the building. We arrived late at night and the locally sourced welcome pack was delicious and very welcome indeed! Great internet connection. Our host was kind, helpful and responsive, and the directions were extremely useful and helped us out when satnav failed! I would recommend without hesitation and hope very much to return. Many thanks for a memorable and enjoyable stay.

The stay was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what we needed. The little touches around the house was very warmly received, and the location itself is a great base to visit attractions in Lewis and beaches in Harris (if driving). Asked the hosts twice for specific items, delivered to door promptly. Already considering a 2025 visit! Definitely recommend.

One of the best stays I’ve had. Ideal location for exploring Stornoway. Near many restaurants and shopping. Flat was spacious and clean. Well stocked for cooking, soap for laundry, cleaning supplies. And cute additions like candles and blankets. Very clean and cozy!

The apartment was great! It was clean, very comfortable and well laid out, walking proximity to downtown was incredible, and communication with Etta was quick and informative. She was very accommodating and hospitable. We would stay again and recommend to friends!

lain met us and we immediately felt at home. The flat was warm and sunny. Everything we needed was there and we were very comfortable. The walk to town was easy and Iain had mentioned several places to eat which we found useful. A great stay.

We stayed 4 nights during HebCelt. The apartment is in a perfect location with everything in walking distance. There is ample parking available and everything that you could possibly wish for in the apartment. Everything was extremely clear, WiFi was fast. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Lovely stay in a nice and spacious apartment close to everything one could want to see or do in town - the castle is but a short walk away and having a shop right opposite the place was just incredibly convenient. We particularly loved just how comfortable and cozy the living room was with all of its nooks for sitting and reading etc., it was just lovely staying here.
