Located on Portage Lake in Chassell, MI, near Houghton with quick access to Michigan Tech University, this rustic family cabin is a great place for either an overnight stay or a longer getaway. It provides a great home base for travel in the Keweenaw peninsula! As a 1930s cabin with a sauna on the lake along with a great view, the focus is on the experience! We find guests who truly enjoy our place are flexible with rustic conditions (not looking for Holiday Inn Express) and young at heart!

Take a refreshing respite in the quiet or experience the bustle of historic downtown Calumet from our 500 sqft guest apartment. This studio apartment is lofted above the detached garage with a private entrance. Within walking distance of bars, restaurants, coffeehouses, bakeries, and local ski and snowmobile trails our guest home is a perfect place to explore all the Keweenaw peninsula has to offer. Guests have 24/7 access to the host, when necessary, as I live in the detached main house.

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cabin on Lake Superior. The views are amazing day and night. With panoramic views from inside and out you’ll have amazing sunsets and spectacular views of the lake. The nighttime views of the stars and the Northern Lights are even better! Inside there is plenty of room to stretch out and relax, sit in front of the fireplace, relax in the jacuzzi tub or even play a game of pool. Just a short drive to Eagle River, Eagle Harbor and Copper Harbor.

Nice, clean apartment just 5 minutes from Michigan Tech and a view of Portage Lake (lake access too!). One stall of garage parking available so you can go right from car to apartment without dealing with the snow. The driveway is plowed. Wifi, heat, keurig coffee selection included. Enjoy a quiet relaxing day, play games in the yard, build a campfire or check out the stars at night or the beautiful fall colors. Close to Michigan Tech Univ., Mine tours, Waterfalls and other Historical Landmarks. Visit Lake Superior just 6 miles away. Pick Agates or Yooper Lights at Agate Beach. Ride the ATV / Snowmobile trails from Copper Harbor to the Porcupine Mountains.

Cozy & Clean Chassell Roadside Cottage

This is a non-smoking studio type cottage with a queen bed and futon. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, sink, double burner hotplate, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster. Kitchen essentials are provided. Bathroom towels and bedding are also provided. Cottage also has a grill, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and Netflix. (SORRY, NO PETS. NO SMOKING, OR PARTIES ALLOWED. $400 fine) Chassell beach is two blocks away, and hiking trails are 1 block. MTU is a 10 minute drive.

Drive right on to the trail! Historic feeling mining company house in Painesdale! This place has a full kitchen with laundry closet, dining room, living room with wood piers, 3 bedrooms with queen beds, and a full bathroom! The driveway has parking for large vehicles/trailers. Just off M26, approximately 8 miles from the City of Houghton. The Bill Nichols Snowmobile/ATV trail is right across the street! This is the perfect place for your Copper Country/Keweenaw getaway!

Hancock Old Mining House (Duplex)

Upstairs half of duplex in Hancock. This mining era house was converted to a duplex somewhere along the way. The living space is completely private but there is a shared entrance with the lower unit on the front porch. Our co-host Shelby lives in the lower unit. This Airbnb listing not a luxury rental It's an old but clean, functional apartment that is ideal for one to two quiet guests. We purchased house in 2021 and lived in the lower unit until March of 2024.

"Copper Trails" Lovely Private Rental Unit

Easy access one bedroom unit in Dollar Bay. Right on the snowmobile trail, and convenient for all of the Copper Country’s activities: snowmobiling, skiing, biking, touring historical sites, Michigan Tech, etc. Entire upstairs of a detached garage.
