Enchanting waterfront cottage Trollstua

We had a delightful stay in this unique, beautifully designed, well-equipped house. The views were incredible and we stayed "home" for the majority of our meals rather than go out to eat and the kitchen was very well-stocked with high quality everything. We really enjoyed sitting outside in the late afternoons, listening to the birds and watching the tide go in and out. Very peaceful and just what we needed after a stressful July. We didn't love Brunswick itself, however -- a bit too commercial and built up for our tastes and there was traffic getting everywhere. That was the only downside of our stay but the house was wonderful.

Bath, Beautiful Views of the Kennebec River

What an amazing place. The apartment was spotless and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully stocked and then some. Carolyn and Dave were great hosts, available but not intrusive. I even got a text to let me know it started raining and my sunroof was open. We loved the location and will definitely check to see if it is available next time we are visiting.

Pete and Jen’s place was exactly what we needed! Friends were getting married at the 1774 House and this home was only a 10 minute drive from the venue! We loved the fact that all 9 of us could stay in the same place. One of our favorite places at the property was the covered outdoor porch, where we drank coffee in the mornings and played card games! Would definitely recommend Pete and Jen’s home to people visiting the area!

Maine Stowaway Cottage/Your Year-Round Destination

We had a fantastic stay at Luanne's! The house is in a good location, about 10 min to downtown Boothbay Harbor. The property is beautiful with a great view of the water. The bedroom and bathroom setup worked well for us, since most bedrooms had access to its own bathroom. Everything was clean, appliances and grill worked. Luanne was very responsive to any questions and issues. Renters should note that there is a guest cottage/converted garage on the property, just about 15 feet away from the main house, and this cottage is also rented out. The property is essentially shared between the two houses. It did not become an issue during our stay, but we were cognizant that there may be another car coming up the driveway when the dogs and kids were out in the yard and it did make the property feel less private. Overall, would recommend Luanne's for a great stay close to Boothbay.

Dockside Cottage at Lookout Point

My wife Paula and I found this to be a perfect place to spend our visit to coastal Maine. We loved this was rustic and cozy cottage that was furnished with antiques and filled with perfect local decor. The view of the bay from both the inside and outside was gorgeous. Drinking coffee on the porch we were treated with the enjoyment of watching boats, and abundant wildlife. We lacked nothing as there was plenty of cups, dishes, cookware, utensils, linens, etc. We took advantage of the access to live lobsters sold from the dock down below that was an easy walk. And enjoyed watching the lobstermen work their trade. We drove across to Orr and Baileys Islands for additional shops and restaurants, but the Dolphin Marina restaurant was our favorite. All in all, this cottage exceeded our expectations, and the bar was already set high. We certainly wish to return. Many thanks to our host. Keith and Paula

Tower Hill House Harpswell, Orr’s Island, Maine

We feel so lucky we were able to stay here - it was perfect for our needs, and pretty much perfect generally. Trying to think if I've had a better Airbnb experience - I don't think so. It was quiet, peaceful, beautiful and private - but close to the wedding events we were attending. House layout was ideal; lots of separation between the upstairs bedrooms (my husband getting up for snacks in the middle of the night didn't wake me up, and my going out for an early morning walk didn't disturb him). I would love to return and bring my son and his girlfriend to take advantage of the third bedroom on the main floor. Clean, pretty, and overall just a really pleasant ambience, also thanks to our gracious hosts. I have to say I was a little bit worried when I saw they live in the other half of the house, but honestly, if I hadn't read that, I would have had no idea (except for maybe the fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies greeting us).

Naturalist Paradise on the Cove

Beautiful setting. Great host. Quiet. Tranquil. Peaceful. Once we navigated the dirt road we enjoyed the drive to restaurants. Into Bath. Reid State park was amazing. We liked The Osprey. We loved Blue at Grey Havens.

Drift Away Cottage on Popham Beach

For an early October weekend getaway, the cottage served us well. Access to the beach was an obstacle for us, as many of us have significant knee issues. The steep stairway to and from the beach did not serve us well, and I don’t remember reading about it prior to our booking. Thankfully we were able to access the beach another way, and enjoyed 2 beautiful sunny afternoons at the waters’ edge. This saved our weekend stay. The cottage is very well appointed and it was a joy to have a fully functioning kitchen with all the tools for cooking all our meals as we chose to stay put and enjoy the amenities provided. Thank you Barrett for sharing your beautiful family cottage with us. Memories were made and will be cherished.

Rob's house was a wonderful stay. Beautiful location, excellent garden, and wonderfully stocked kitchen. Rob himself was helpful and accommodating more than I'd expect anyone to be. Well worth the visit.

We came up to drop our child at Bowdoin College, looking to spend a few days nearby to explore Maine. As a group of 6 people, ranging from 9yrs old to 61 years old, we fit perfectly well, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Mark’s place exceeded our expectations. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms spacious and well-appointed. The kitchen has everything you could need or want. There is plenty of space, both indoor and outdoor, to spend the days and nights. Loads of boardgames. Wonderful round table for big family dinners, great fire pit for nighttime smores and hangouts, an ample porch that is well furnished and comfortable. The house sits at the end of the road and is quiet and peaceful and surrounded by the sea. The children loved going down to the private mini-beach / shore to explore and find treasures (shells, sea glass, hermit crabs) at low tide. There’s loads to do : 2 wonderful and ample beaches within 10 mins; charming town of Bath 15 min drive. This house is worth it!

Beautiful Waterview Special Sunsets

We recently stayed at this wonderful Airbnb with our two young children (ages 2 and 5), and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The property was private and offered a serene and safe environment for our little ones to explore and enjoy. One of the highlights for us were the breathtaking sunsets we got to witness every evening. The views were simply stunning and made our stay even more special. Additionally, we enjoyed fishing off the pier, which was a great activity for the whole family. Betsy, our host, was amazing! She was always available for any questions we had and made sure we felt right at home. Her friendliness and attentiveness truly enhanced our stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this property to other families looking for a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. Thank you, Betsy, for a memorable vacation!

My family and I had a fantastic stay at the cottage! The location is amazing with stunning views in a peaceful neighborhood with a fun little golf course. The house itself was spotless and comfortable with good wifi. It had every kitchen item we needed and Instacart delivered without issue even though it’s a little remote. Josh was an awesome host and was very communicative answering all of my detailed questions and gave us so many fun and useful tips about the area and house itself. We really could not have been happier.

Waterfront Farmhouse with Modern Flair!

The home was very welcoming and accommodating for our family of 5. The views were spectacular at sunrise, sunset and during the snowstorm. Bald Eagles and hawks would land in the trees right in front of the house. Also, there was a skating pond down the street my family love to visit almost each evening. There was an alarm going off as soon as we arrived, Debbi was incredibly fast responding and sending someone to check it out clear it up. On the plus someone came and plowed the driveway after the snowstorm it was great. She left a basket of local food and my family ate it up. We are so thankful for our relaxing week and would love to return.
